The workshop will focus on the region\u2019s signature dance suite and, if time allows, a few dances from neighbouring areas (Gavotte, Da\u00f1s Plin&#8230;)\u2014perfect preparation for putting it all into practice at the evening fest-noz!<br><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 43%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Workshop 2: Hurdy Gurdy with Trio REB&#8217;s Benoit Roblin<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Technique, Accents, Groove, and Variations to play for dancing<\/strong> <strong>&#8211; For all gurdies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This workshop focuses on dance music from the regions of Poitou, Central France, and Gascony. We\u2019ll learn melodies, fingerings, and then variations. We\u2019ll also review trompette techniques and work on rhythm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim is to find the underlying pulse of dance music and emphasise it through rhythmic dissociation, rhythmic variations, and left-hand playing techniques. The aim is to listen to each other and to learn to find your own way in the group according to your playing. Attendees will develop accompaniment, rhythmic and harmonic concepts on the accordion, and counter-melodies. Each piece will generally follow an Introduction, Development, optional Bridge or Chorus, and Conclusion format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bring a recorder and note-taking materials. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individual autonomy is key for a productive environment. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No beginners &#8211; sorry! Together, you&#8217;ll learn one or two tunes and explore their phrasing and bowing techniques adapted to the rhythm of the dance (<em>Ronde de Loud\u00e9ac<\/em> or <em>Da\u00f1s Plin<\/em>). The Bal Limousine, actually from Poitou, is a big circle dance with changing partners. Sauti\u00e8res is from Limousine and is a non-contact partner dance with room for improvisation.
