Les Panards Dansants Supports The MND Association

You will all be familiar with our fabulous logo but you may not know the artist who created it as she was not a dancer or musician. Her name was Miranda and she was a very dear friend.

She spent one evening sketching the Panards Dansants music and dance session in the early days in Leeds, and she came up with this vibrant design. You’ll all agree she picked up perfectly on the energy of the dancers and instruments details. Can you recognise the dances? There is a mazurka, bourrĂ©e, scottish and an dro.

But sadly, Miranda passed away in June 2024 at the end of a slow decline from that terrible illness, motor neurone disease. She had lost her speech very early on but thankfully she could continue to type and communicated through a special phone app and never lost her sense of humour. She died very peacefully, surrounded by her family.

There is NO CURE for MND, and a lot of funding is needed to support the research to find one.

At this years festival, there will be a donations cafe with all proceeds donated to the MND association for Miranda and all the other victims of the cruel disease, please donate what you can.

And when you wear your Panards tee-shirt please remember the amazing woman who created our logo!
